Just to confirm Membership Pro is the right extension for a project I'm working on.
I'm designing a site that offers four different membership types. With membership, special content is available to members only as well as discounted Hikashop products for registered joomla users. Membership is based on calendar years, not on "1 year from membership start". The client is hoping for a near handsoff solution for maintaining their membership renewals.

Can this extension handle that?

Membership Pro can handle the Membership part easily. For discount on Hikashop, I'm unsure how it should work because Membership Pro does not have any direct integration with HikaShop

As long as when someone purchases a membership, they are added to a joomla group (registered, for example) it'll work ok

If so, that's possible and supported. Actually, Registered is default user group which every user account in Joomla will be assigned to when the account created, so no problem with that

Membership Pro even gives you more options than that. If you want, you can assign subscribers to the user groups you want when they subscribe for the plan, see membershipprodoc.joomservices.com/joomla-groups-integration
