membership_id. user_id and password field was created by Torborg
Hi
I haven't started to use membership pro for real, but I'm getting closer. Planning to import 1300 members from my old local database. Now I work to have the same fieldnames as the subscription table.
But what about the password field? Is there a subscribers table somewhere?
The membership_id and and user_id is 0 for all records. What's the difference between them? Can I use one of them to import our old membership ID?

Hello
1. The password field will be imported and created to use Joomla user account for that subscription record
2. Usually, for importing new subscriptions, you would leave user_id and membership_id empty . Membership Pro will generate data for these two fields automatically itself (first field stores Joomla User ID of the subscription and second field stores it Membership ID)

Ok, thanks. My plan is to generate random passwords for every member . I do so in a local table (in msAccess or excel. Then import them as a csv file and then let user choose their own password by clicking "lost passwords". Isn't that a good plan? Or is there better ways to do it?
If I do as planned, what is the password field name and where and how shall it be imported.

Hello
If so, you can have the password in password column.

Yes, but I thought password belonged to another table? Not to subscriptions.
I have some new members in membership pro. But i can only find them in the table called _osmembership_subscribers, not in the joomla table _users, where there is a password field.
1) Why aren't new users added to the users table, when they subscribe through membership pro?
2) and what with my old local users. How can I import their user data to both users and subscription table?

Hello
1. When users subscribe through membership pro, user account should be created for them unless there is something special on your site causing it does not work
2. Where are your old local users stored? If it is outside Joomla, then you can export these users and use Import feature in Membership Pro to have these users imported into the system
Regards,
Tuan

1. User account is not created for the subscribers. These are the ones that have subscribed through membership pro. The subscribers listed in subscriptions table have zero for members_id and zero for user_ID. Any suggestions what I shall look for to get this right?

That sound strange to me. If users via Membership Pro (and make payment for the subscription if it is paid plan), user account should be calculated
If not, there is something wrong. You can submit a support ticket sending us super admin account of your site so that I can check it directly on your site
