Multiple subscriptions

Is there any way to allow users to subscribe to a plan more than once?  We want people to be able to buy gift subscriptions.    We have four plans, and I see that a member can subscribe to a different plan, but not able to sign up again for the same plan.

It is not possible for one user to subscribe for a plan multiple time. When that user subscribe for the same plan second time, it will be treated as renewal, not a separate subscription

In this case, maybe he will have to logout, then buy a new subscription using a different username/password/email of the gift receipt
