Membership pro and AcyMailing was created by Torborg
I don't understand how Membership Pro and AcyMailing can work together. I tried to ask at Acymailing, but got no answer. Hope someone here can help me.

I have membership pro. Haven't started to use it for my real members, but I'm testing. I have also uploaded the free version of AcyMailing to test. New test members are added tothe acymailing lists, but understand that I need one of the paid AcyMailing plans (witch one) to get more functions.

I wonder if:
- If I update an email address in membership pro, will it be updated in Acymailing too?
- Can I filter Acymailing subscribers based on their subscription plan status in Membership Pro, as it was done in the plugin for version 5 ( docs.acymailing.com/v/old/integration-pl...lugin-membership-pro )
- If the functions above are possible, do you know what Acymailing plan do I need, and if I need any extra plugins?

I was hoping to use the system to send some emails to the members before Christmas.

Hello

1. This will only happens when subscribers update their email from their user profile page. When admin edit a subscription record and change the subscriber email, the email won't be updated in ACYMailing

2. Sorry, we do not support that filter. The filter was developed by ACYMailing, so you should contact ACYMailing to see if they still support that filter in latest version of that extension

Regards,

Tuan

Thanks Tuan!

I hope I get an answer from ACYmailing soon. So that I understand what it can expect. I could buy one of the plans and try, but I don't want to buy the enterprice plan if I only need essential.

if any membership pro users here knows more I hope they can help with information (because at acymailing there is silence).

Just an update for myself and others who might need the information. I ordered the enterprise plan and I could then choose between enterprise plan in version 5 and 6. Version 5 has a plugin for filtering the status in membership pro, and I wanted to try that. I'm not sure if I need the plug in, but now I can try.

@torborg

I reality you can filter in another way using Acy6. (and in a way that is GDPR compliant)

MP has a plugin that let you add/remove to a Acymailing list, When MP Subscription Active AND add/remove from lists When Subscription Expires.
This feature can be set so that users has to opt in (check a box) for newsletters which makes it GDPR compliant.

in practice this has more possibilities than the filter feature, and it is more automated.

Thanks a lot StreetSportService!
OK then I will try Acy6 instead. For the GDPR part; the members are members in our organization. If they unsubscribe we have a problem, because the emails are the way we communicate with members. I'm not sure how to deal with them unsubscribing. But I will probably send information to old members too, and then the unsubscribe option is important.

Just now I try to understand how to deal with people changing home address and email address. We have a paper magazine and a great deal of them are not delivered, but returned to us. Then I want to email the members:

"Hi [MemberName], have you moved from (StreetAddress]? Your mail is returned to us."

And then they answer by email. I update in membership pro, is it then updated in Acymailing? Do I have to update to both places?

I really wish I could have one of you AcyMailing/MembershipPro users by my side now. There is soooo much that I don't understand :-)

No problem Torborg

Tuan has made a great integration between MP and Joomla core user profile so that they are synced and figure as one if you configure it to be. This way you can alow them to edit their user information them selves and just link to the profile menu in the mail

But I don´t know if email is synced from Joomla user profile to Acy ... i actually think I there is a setting to do this. BUT ... Acy has its own "profile" register of acy subscriber ..this I due to GDPR and marketing laws so you can go in and see a record of how they where sign-up, etc... but a sync of name and email from joomla/MP user profile would solve the practical handling
