Using Coupons with a recurring membership was created by JOHN S ANDERSON
We have a recurring membership plan. If someone receives a gift certificate and tries to use it on our recurring membership, it still goes to Stripe and forces them to put in a credit card. A gift shouldn't require a credit card. Once the invoice is $0, that should end the transaction and the person is in a cancelled recurring status. How is this achieved?

Hello

Try to edit the coupon code, change Apply For to All Payments

Then the subscriber will get free lifetime subscription for the plan and they won't have to enter credit card at Stripe

I don't want them to have a free lifetime subscription. The coupon should only cover 1 year(or one period). In my example, it was a one year gift from a family member.

Hello John

If so, the system is working as expected. Users will still get free 1 year, but credit card information needs to be collected (by Stripe) so that the next year, the payment will be processed (without requiring any action from user)
