Hello Tuan,

Thanks again for a great piece of software and I'm almost ready to go live with my site using this extension. My question is in regards to automatic renewals / reoccurring subscriptions from payment plugins. Right now I'm using the default (standard) Paypal plugin in sandbox mode and have the advanced configurations set (API user, password and signature). All is working just fine and I am able to successfully process a subscription. My issue is that when it expires, the subscription isn't automatically renewed (not sure if this is the "Enable Renewal" or "Reoccurring Subscription" feature but I have them both enabled as shown in the included screenshot).

Would you please be able to explain if the standard PayPal (os_paypal) plugin / processor can handle this or if a different either a different plugin (such as Stripe) or payment processor (such as using Paypal Pro). I'd like to stay with a gateway that has no monthly costs as I start up so the standard PayPal terms are fine with me however the business model I am using is best served by having the / automatic renewals enabled.

Hi

The default payment plugin can handle it. The main question here is that do you have a way to check from PayPal sandbox to see if PayPal has processed the payment for that recurring subscription or not. The way it works is:

- When users sign up, the system will register the recurring payment with PayPal
- Then PayPal will process and handle payment itself. In your case, one month from sign up date (and so on...), PayPal will process the second payment.
- When PayPal process that second payment (and later payment), it will inform Membership Pro about this payment. Membership Pro will validate that payment and if it's valid, extend the subscription

So the main thing you should check here is if PayPal processed the recurring payment or not?

Thanks Tuan. I have another test going and will see how Paypal processes it (I set it to expire daily and then reoccur automatically). I'll let you know how it goes - thank you for the quick reply!
