Allow existing joomla users to be added to a subscription plan

Hello,
I have a wordpress website where I receive subscription payments through another 3rd party wordpress provider, but have a joomla forum where I have manually created users inside of joomla (no subscription on the joomla site - is manually controlled by the admin team). I have installed membership pro to my joomla site and would like to understand the best way to address the subscription process for existing users?

Is there a way to have the users 'upgrade their membership' from within their log in profiles, which would then set up the new paypal subscription via the membership pro?

Nothing special. You just need to create and display subscription plans on your site. Existing users can just access to the page which display plans and subscribe for the plan they want
