Auto approval for new subscribers not working was created by Eric Miller
Good morning, when new users subscribe to my service, I still need to manually "enable" and "activate" them.
Send activation email is set to no.
Only Create User Account When Membership Active/Approved is set to yes.

Hi Eric
Go to Users -> Manage, click on Options button in the toolbar, set New User Account Activation parameter to Self
After that, try again. It should work as expected.

Thank you Tuan! That did work however, there is now an option on the login form that allows users to create an account which I would like to remove. I need all new users to go through the subscription process.

Leave it there (or create an override for the module to remove it if it's needed) and then use this plugin to prevent users from registering via Joomla core users registration, see membershipprodoc.joomservices.com/plugin...tion-redirect-plugin
