AEC Migration from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 3 was created by Alex
Hi, is it possible to migrate from AEC on a Joomla 1.5 site to Membership Pro on a Joomla 3 site? For example, one of your competitor allow this kind of migration simply migrating manually the AEC DB tables from the Joomla 1.5 web site to the Joomla 3 site, and then running their extension tool. Is it possible with Membership Pro?

Hi Alex
Migrating is quite difficult, especially when you have recurring subscriptions in the system
We have a migration tool to allow migrating data from AEC to Membership Pro (yes, you need to move AEC DB tables from your Joomla 1.5 website to Joomla 3 website before running the took)
However, the tool was developed with latest version of AEC, so I am unsure if it works with the version of AEC on your Joomla 1.5 website
The only way to know if it works is try. You can purchase a copy of Membership Pro to setup and try. If it's not working as expected, you can request us for refund
Regards,
Tuan

hello @Alex,
I think it is possible when you want to migrate from AEC on a Joomla 1.5 site to Membership Pro on a Joomla 3. site. However, you should know that the migration process is quite complicated and you need to find an expert to help you custom the database if you don't have any technical skills.
I highly recommend you use a reliable automated migration tool called LitExtension, it provides the All-in-one migration package in that you can hire their experts to complete the job from a to z for you. This tool allows transferring all data including products, customers, orders and other related data from ACE on Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 3 with a high level of security and accuracy.
You should contact the support team to discuss more details about the project because it is complex. Hope it can help you!

Hello, thank you for the answer;
now I'm using another Joomla 3 extension (SP Upgrade) for the migration: this extension connects to the database of the Joomla 1.5 site and can migrate the Joomla core contents (user, category, articles, etc.), some extensions such as Community Builder and has a nice function that allow me to select the database tables that I want to migrate to the new Joomla 3 site database: so I can select and migrate all AEC tables. I have migrated the core contents and I'm migrating the CB profiles; the next step is to migrate all AEC tables.
If Membership Pro refers to the same database structure as AEC 0.14.2, Revision 306, there should not be any problem.
My Joomla 1.5.20 site runs AEC Version 0.14.2, Revision 3060; what is the latest AEC version you are talking about? Does it run on Joomla 1.5? Where can I download it?

Hi, I have a version of AEC that includes an "export" feature - not sure if your old AEC 1.5 version can do that. But you should be able to export out of AEC into CSV format, then somehow import it into Membership Pro using the CSV import tool

Hi Alex
To be honest, I don't remember it now. The migration tool was developed about 2 to 3 years ago and I haven't installed AEC again
So using the solution suggested by @natecovington might work, too (exports subscription data to CSV and then import it into Membership Pro using import feature)
