Good morning!
Our web site is for a local chapter of a national organization. In the national database, we only have access to our own chapter's membership list and data.
I am looking at a way to include members of other chapters in our use of Membership Pro and treat them as members. I can see doing this one of two ways:
1. Create a Plan called Visiting or Guest with zero dollar, custom field for their "home" chapter.
2. Create a custom field for "home" chapter in our other memberships and configure it so people who choose another home chapter have a complimentary membership.
Constraints and considerations:
1. We are not able to look up their membership in the master database so we have to rely on them to accurately enter their home chapter and renewal status
2. I haven't figured out how to make a membership complimentary based on a custom field yet or if it is supported.
3. Ideally we'd be asking users who self-register for a Joomla! account about their membership status with us, if Membership Pro fails to figure it out, and sign them up for it from there, I'm not sure Joomla! or Membership Pro support this.
