Component url restriction was created by Frédéric Bianchi
Hello,
I have some files which are only accessible with a subscription.
So users can't see or download if they are not members.
I installed Edocman to manage these files and place them outside my site root, but if I copy the link for example docs.google.com/viewer?url=https://forma...document?Itemid=9999 , I can access them directly from the web, which I don't want.

It's the same for audios, etc.

How do I lock access to these files? Is it possible to use the url restriction settings of Membership pro to do this?

Regards,
Frédéric

Hello Frédéric

Unfortunately, Membership Pro can only protect internal URLs (URLs which are managed by Joomla)

For that kind of URL, it's a link to google docs and Membership Pro cannot protected it

I think instead of giving subscribers permission to view these files, you should give them permission to download files and it should work fine

I guess you will have to disable the viewer option to prevent the file from being viewed by public users like that

OK, if I do the same thing but without google doc enabled, I can see the document, but if I am no longer connected, I can no longer access it. So it must be good like this?

This gives me an url like: formation.energie-sante.ch/component/edo...viewdocument?Itemid=

Hello Frédéric

I don't really understand your last question. However, the idea to handle this requirement is that:

- You can assign subscribers to the user group you want when they subscribe for your plans using Joomla Groups plugin
- Then configure EDocman to allow users from these groups to view/download the documents you want

In short, once users subscribe for your plans, they will be assigned to certain user groups and can download the documents available for that group
