Allow Membership Renewal config setting

The config setting "Allow Membership renewal" is a bit confusing.

The tooltip says that if the field is left empty renewals are available at any time.

But what if we do NOT want to allow renewals until after the expiry date?

I noticed that if the field is left empty and saved it becomes 0 anyway, rather than staying empty.

So please clarify what do we put in this field in these two cases:

1. Renewals to be available at any time (ie the default), and
2. Renewals only available AFTER the expiry date.

1. If you enter 0 or leave it empty, renewal will be allowed anytime

2. We do not have a way to only allow renewing after expiring date. Maybe you can set that config option to 1 and users will only be allowed to renew their subscription 1 day before subscription expired, that's the nearest option for your requirement

Thanks Tuan, would -1 work, meaning the day after expiry? I think this requirement is related to the changeover of a tax year so even renewals happening a day before expiry would not be ideal. I wonder if there are others requiring this added as an option?

No, -1 won't work at the moment. I will think more about this case and might support it in the future. But right now, It's not possible
