Membership for Families was created by Adrian Arnold
Hi Tuan, We have a membership plan for families and all the members of that family have their own login to our site via Community Builder or Joomla user.
We have about 50 family members ,approx 110 members.
What we do is every site member has their own CB profile because the family members often have different positions in the club as the MP payee might be an Executive and can see restricted content and the other way around but in MP only those that paid the family subscription have a MP subscription.
Also in CB we have many custom fields like Financial Yes/No,Year paid DATE, expiry DATE and many more. Our Treasurer logs in and for each member in CB these fields are updated by hand after each subscription and is time consuming. At the moment I am trying to automate these fields in CB from info from MP by using the custom fields in CB query.
Example: If the subscription is active in MP the payee from the family has an automated Financial as YES in the CB custom field, but because the other members of the Family have nothing because they actually don't have a MP subscription we see nothing and we want to say in that custom field PAID BY PARTNER and so on.
Is there a way to create a dummy subscription for the other Family members in MP and when the subscription expires for the paying family membere it also shows expired for the partner?
We use CB because we can generate lists for different member types and we have about 6 different types as in guest members that can login through to Admins.
We also map these fields to Jevents for Event registration and their financial status is also shown due to insurance requirements.
I can give more information on request as it is somewhat complicated to explain.
I haven't used the Group members manager as yet because the site is live and not sure how it really works with credentials when a group member manager only has registered member status.
Cheers Adrian

Hi Adrian
I would suggest you to start with group membership. Look like it will do what you need (or at least it will handle basic requirement). See documentation at membershipprodoc.joomservices.com/advanc...res/group-membership

Hi Tuan, I have briefly looked at the link and without going into it too much just yet I have a couple of questions.
If the Group admin is only a registered user and the member that admin wants to add is a super admin does this create any problems further down the line?
Also can other group admins see each other under this group admin menu?
Cheers Adrian

An issue we will have with this is some of the group admins (we will end up with 50 or more group admins) will simply not have a clue how to do this and we will need to do it for them and some of the family subscriptions the super admins need to do it as some members never even go to the site. Anyway our problem. Cheers Adrian

Hi Tuan, I think I need some help here.
I created the menu and selected a member that has Family membership and logged in as that user. The group admin then would select a user that is in the system and add them to their group, but then that added member will also have a family subscription and a fee of $60 would make that subscription for the family $120. We need that any members added to that group have a fee of $0 as the group admin has paid the subscription for the whole family. How do I make this work.
Cheers Adrian

Hi Adrian
Group Admin can add members into his group without having to pay extra money (the money for whole group is is paid at the time group admin subscribe for the plan)
Imagine that group admin has to pay for the whole group, group members won't have to pay any fee.
Group members will have all access like group admin except group members cannot add other members into the group (only group admin can add members)
