Group info in profile

Hi Tuan, hope you are well!

I was hoping to ask for your advice before I start my next task, please.

I currently successfully use Membership Pro on my website and in particular use the group plans with the subscriber as a group admin who then adds their group members to their plan.

I would like to use either Community Builder, Jomsocial or Easysocial (I have no preference currently) and be able to link or map who the group admin is in their profile.

For example Bob the driving instructor adds Janet and John to their group. I would like Janet and Johns profiles to say that their driving instructor is Bob, (in reality I guess the information will be the relevant group admin username). Do you know if that information transfers over in any of the social plugins above?

None of the above extensions support this. If you use any of the above extensions, you will have to customize the code to display this group information in the position you want

Hi Tuan, thank you. So is customizing the code something I need to do and how do I find out how and where to do that?
Or is it something that you would develop and quote me a cost for? Tracey

Depends on the extension you are using. For this, unless you are a very good Joomla developer, you should:

- Hire the developer of that extension to customize the code
- Or hire us to customize the code

But you need to decide the community extension you want to use and make it clear on what page you want to show this information (and where) before we can give you final quotation

Ok thanks, I think I will look at community builder first and explore their query plugin which might do the trick. They have one which can populate a field from the database so assuming I can easily find the group admin details in the database I may have my solution. I will get back to you if I need help . thanks as always. Tracey

Hi Tuan, hope all is well!

I thought I had found a solution to my problem using Community Builder and their query plug in to pull the group admin id from the database and add it to a custom field in the relevant group members profile. Unfortunately, since installing community builder some of my users are experiencing difficulties and error messages when logging in or trying to reset their passwords. It's driving me mad with customer service emails and as I only use Community builder for the query plugin I would like to ditch it.

I've revisited the custom fields in Membership Pro, now I know what SQL query to use to pull the group admin id from the database, would I be able to use that in a custom field? I do not want group members to be able to edit or choose from a drop-down list. I want the info to populate automatically so that whenever a group admin adds a new user the group admin id appears in a field on their profile. If that is not possible in the current set up would it be possible to customise code to achieve it? And how much would it be and approx how long would it take? Warmest wishes. Tracey

And just thinking about it, it does not specifically need to be the group admin id. I just need a common denominator in a profile field for the group admin and all their group members. Tracey

If it's just your need, then don't use CB. If you want to show something on user profile, we can customize the code and it will only cost you about 20$ 30$

If that sounds OK to you, you can submit a support ticket sending us:
