Support for Joomla 2.5 was created by Mark Whitmore
Hi guys,

We're using Membership Pro version 2.3.0 on a production site. I'm wondering whether support is ongoing for Joomla 2.5 and whether we should continue to be active subscribers? Will the latest updates work out of the box for us?

Also, we use PayPal and Stripe plugins. Our Stripe plugin has recently stopped updating subscriptions when a payment has been made forcing us to do this manually. Has this problem been resolved and will these plugins continue to be updated for J2.5 use?

Regards

Hello

We must be honest that we stopping support for Joomla 2.5 for long time ago (isn't Joomla stop support Joomla 2.5 from 2014?)

So you should not continue using that Joomla 2.5 website

Better plan to update your site to latest version of Joomla and Membership Pro instead, especially when your site handles credit card payment

Hi Tuan,

Thanks for the response.

It's a complicated process, many plugins and components that we use don't have a Joomla 3 version.

Is paid support something you'd offer to bring this component up to date?

I can send you the site details in a PM.

There is no way to bring it up to date. The only thing which can be done is working on the code and hopefully, stripe update status of the subscription automatically

Hi Tuan,

Thanks for the response.

I guess we could just work on the Stripe plugin for the time being and leave the component until we upgrade to J3. Could you work on the code? Let me know details of how to make this happen.

Also, Stripe is introducing SCA in September. Could this be inserted into the code, too?

Hi Mark

I still haven't worked on SCA yet, so I am unsure what change is needed

However, it guess it will require developing a new plugin and also modify core code of Membership Pro to support it as well, so it would cost you much fee (not less than 100$, I am afraid of)

So better, upgrade if you can. The sooner you update, the better

Or plan to migrate your site to Joomla 4 when it's released later this year

Hi Tuan,

That's fine, I'll take the plugin upgrade for now. I need you guys to do on-the-side development for me occasionally, too.

No current plans to upgrade as the component does what we require and then our other extensions take over. All functional right now so I'm only after quick fixes.

Also, the automated Stripe problem, too. Can that be fixed also?

Hi Mark

Yes. It should be fixable. We can work on the fix for that one first if you want. You can submit a support ticket and we can discuss more details about it
