Date on Invoice

I had a customer renew his membership for our website and the invoice he received has the date when he originally set up his registration 3 years ago. He has renewed each year and we just saw the original date is what is showing on the date of the invoice instead of the date that he renewed the membership.

How do I change that setting to where the invoice produces the current renewal date instead of the original membership date?
