Recurring subscription update dates

Hi,

we need a clarification.
Using the recurring subscription, are the start and end dates of the subscription updated at each automatic renewal?

When the subscription is renewed automatically, a new record is created on the database table?

When a recurring renewal happens, the system will create a new subscription record for the subscriber, the start date is end date of previous record + 1 second. The subscription end date of new record is start date + subscription length of the plan
