2-Digit State Code on Registration Form

Is there a way to get the registration form to use the 2-digit state code (for US states) instead of the full state name?

I need this in order to properly associate the field with the corresponding Community Builder field, Also, my client will be exporting the list for mailing and in the US we use the 2-digit code in proper addressing.

We display state name in the dropdown but the actual value stored in database is state_2_code

So it might work as you want already. The main question is where you want to use state_2_code (after it's stored in database?)

That's fine. The reason I ask is because the CSV export needs to have the two-character state abbreviation - which I tested and see that it does - and that the mapping to the State field in Community Builder is valid.
