Parent/Child memberships with discounts for second membership

I'm a member of a club where I'm reviewing Membership Pro, to see if it will work for us.

The case is, we have many adult members who also manage a subscription for their children, and we have a policy to give a 50% discount for the second, third etc. membership.

In other words, we need support of:

Parent membership with name of person attached to subscription - pays normal price
Child (1...N) membership with name of child attached to subscription - automatic X% discount

Can Membership Pro support this scenario? If not, is it something you would consider adding - I know this function to be a key feature for many clubs, so it could be a feature that would grow your subscribers...

I think Membership Pro doesn't support this feature. Maybe there is a workaround to setup it:

1. You setup a different plan for parent membership with higher price

2. Then setup another plan with reduced price for children membership

If that doesn't work, then consider using group membership membershipprodoc.joomservices.com/group-membership . The point is that only parent needs to subscribe for membership and then add children to his group. These children will have active subscription like parent, the only limitation is that children cannot add another child themself

If both of the workaround above doesn't work, then Membership Pro could not handle this requirement. And to be honest, I don't think there are any extensions can handle this

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, your suggestions won't work. Thinking about it, it shouldn't be to difficult to check if a subscriber already has an active membership, and if so, apply a discountcode on checkout/payment.

We already use a system (not Joomla) that support this feature, but I have a wish to move away from that, as I've been working with Joomla for 13 years now...

It is not possible because in Membership Pro at the moment, when someone sign up for a plan for second time, it is treated as membership renewal

So basically, one user account won't be allowed to have multiple memberships of the same plan (second sign up is treated as renewal so that he won't loose any days from his subscription)

With that said, I think Membership Pro is not suitable for your requirement
