Manage Subscriptions - Mass actions-Front and Back was created by Christopher Slee
Manage Subscriptions ... allow a manager to mass "renew subscription" a member subscription

There seems to be no way to subscribe members to new plans, other than thru Imports
  • Any way around this thru the front or the back end?
  • How about another option next to RENEW SUBSCRIPTION ... to
  • or a BATCH option like Joomla provides to move articles, users, menus etc. but instead to mass administer subscribers with an extra window to renew subscriptions, subscribe to a different plan, add/remove them to a group ... etc./li]

Another version of the problem

How does anyone administrator etc. [other than the member] subscribe a member to a plan?
quicker than one by one v. slow edits?
thru the front or back ends?

Ignore that.

The problem is with MASS actions on many subscribers at the same time

Hi Christopher

Unfortunately, we don't have a way to add many many subscriptions at a time (Batch action as you described). Right now, you can go to Membership Pro -> Subscriptions, press New button in the toolbar to add a new subscription record (one by one)

This is the first time I hear about this request. If there are more customers request for this feature, I will consider adding support for it in the future

Regards,

Tuan

I think something could be done with exporting subscriptions to Excel, make easy mass changes there then re-import? However, you'd need to be sure of what you're doing in case something gets messed up!

Tuan: would that work as a workaround?

Hi Alan

Yes. It could be used as a workaround. But to be safe, before importing, I think you should make a backup of the site (or site database) so that in case something is messed up, you can restore to earlier status

Sensible advice!

Actually, that would be a good feature: backup/restore all MP data rather than the whole site. Restoring a whole joomla install could be tricky just because you made a mistake in MP, so something that created, say, an xml backup file would be good. There have been a few times where I've made significant changes to MP data and knowing I could easily restore just the old MP data would have been good.

Yes, correct. But I guess tool like Akeeba backup only allow backup full site (or site database). You would need to know how to export and import data from / to PHPmyadmin to be able to just backup and restore only Membership Pro data (I know you can do that, but other customers - just end users might not know)

Thx to all for the feedback and workaround ideas. And the responsiveness.

Ultimately a lot cleaner and safer done by the app, thru the app. Suspect I'll have a lot more usage for this in the next year ...

Here's hoping Tuan

I will see if I can add support for it. There are still many things we can work on to improve the product
