Subscription Renewal Behavior: Config option was created by vthomas
Please clarify the meaning of this configuration button: Two choices are
(1) Update subscription
(2) Create new subscription
If "update subscription' selected, then the current subscription for that subscriber would basically be edited with a new expiration date? (plus whatever other edits they subscriber entered in form).
If "create new subscription", then, in fact, the old sub expires at original date, and a second, new subscription is created? So, in the second year (of an annual plan), one subscriber who 'renewed' would have two subscriptions in the database?
Thanks, Vicky

Hi Vicky
Yes, the description you mentioned is correct. Please note that create new subscription is the recommended behavior as it allow you to keep track of subscription history of your subscribers (also download old invoices.. when it is needed)
Regards,
Tuan

I have Membership Pro set up with JomSocial. When you set Membership Pro to create "new subscription", JomSocial keeps only one account for the person but all the fields are duplicated each time the person renews; this makes for a very messy account page. I commented to them about this, and they said it is a Membership Pro issue.

Hi Michael
The data should not be duplicated like that. We will check and get back to you about this issue at the beginning next week. This weekend, I am finishing updating our website to run on PHP 7, so could not check it right away

Tuan
