upgrade option

I have 3 plans in the same category:
BASIC, MIDDLE and TOP
you can switch from basic to medium or top or from medium to top
when I go to another floor, the previous one goes to the expired state.
When a user moves from basic to medium and from middle to top, in upgrade options I also offer the option of switching from basic to expired, even if I have a top plan.
how do I make sure that if I have a top plan do not ask me to update an expired basic plan?

So just want to be sure, you don't want the upgrade option from A to plan B if the current user has a subscription of plan B already and it is now expired?

if the user makes an upgrade from the basic plan to the middle plan and then from the middle plan to the top plan, the basic and average plans are expired.(the plains is in the same category)
I wish I would not suggest doing an upgrade from basic to medium, this is because I already have the top plan active.
