Orphaned Categories ??

Heay! Ngoc - My good Friend,
I found this out by mistake setting up some categories for a new experiment.
I enter a number of new categories - all as root. I then decide I need to make one or two sub-categories. I edit the categories and assign them to a root category. No problem so far.
One I mistakenly assigned to itself and it disappeared so I re-entered it. There it was back again. OK.
On checking the DB table I found two entries for the same category. One, I guess, is orphaned. "Vacation Discounts" ???
