Hi we have an existing system with about 400 users and we are just adding Membershp Pro. Is there a way to automatically assign a membership plan to these users?
If you are importing the users using a spreadsheet, then you can create a column that contains the plan name and the users will be automatically assigned to that plan on import. I think the documentation covers it - or there is another thread on here somewhere. I did it with about 150 users - it is well worth while trying it all out beforehand. There are a lot of fields you might want to set up in the spreadsheet, for example, start date, expiry date and any custom fields and it took me several attempts to get everything in the right format. Watch out for date formats in particular!
ETA: make sure you disable the sending of emails when you are trying out the import or you may annoy a lot of your users - I switched it back on after they were all finally and properly imported.

- domain.com needs to be replaced with domain of your website
- ID_OF_PLAN needs to be replaced ID of the plan which you want import these users to. For example
If I understand you correctly, that url will import existing joomla users into membership Pro? That may or may not have been what Sondra had meant. I assumed Sondra meant importing them as new subscribers that weren't already joomla users.
Ah, Yes, I see it now. I thought he wants to import Joomla users, but look like he wants to import users from different system, so your suggestion is the right option here
