User changing subscription payment method

User changing subscription payment method was created by Paul Hosking
How can a user login and change their payment method? say for example changing from PayPal to CC. Is there a way to edit this under their profile update?

Also if a user needs to change membership plan, can how is this achieved as well. ?

Hi
Further to this and related to the same website.
1. "Renew option" will work by using the same duration and price - BUT only when expired, not when subscription is active.
2. Changing plan = "Upgrade Option" - BUT only when active, not when subscription has expired.
How do we do 1. when active?
How do we do 2. when expired?

@Paul: What's the purpose of changing payment method? Is it a recurring subscription plan? Anyway, it is not possible, that's something which need to be handled manually, I am afraid of:

- He needs to cancel his existing subscription (which is using old method)
- Then re-subscribe it

@Ashley: To be honest, I don't know how to handle it. I don't think it makes sense when we only allows renewing subscription if subscription expired. Is it needed only for one plan? Or for all plans in your system? Do you have other renew options?

Thanks for getting back so quick! Tuan.
In another of you post, you mentioned that users can renew early or late, I always thought this was an option, but we have found that when a user logs in and their membership is still active they can not renew, is it a setting that I'm missing out on?

Hello Paul

There are two reasons can cause this issue:

1. The plan is a recurring subscription plan. If so, the renewal will happen automatically, so manually renewal is not needed/not enabled

2. In Configuration of Membership Pro, there is a config option called Allow membership renewal X days before the subscription expired. If you enter 5 for example, users can only renew his subscription of the current subscription is going to be expired in less than 5 days . So if the current subscription is still active for more than 6 days for example, he won't be allowed to renew

Could you please check to see whether one of the two items above applied to you?
