Avoid updating CB details was created by LineMine
Hi
If possible I want to keep subscription membership details completely separate from the Community Builder account of the user. The reason for this is because some users may want to have their business name as the main account name, instead of their real name.
The subscription process seems to work okay for this, as the details filled in for each plan don't seem to update the main CB account and are kept separate, so that a user, for example with the CB account name Farm Shop can upgrade to a plan using the name John Smith and the two remain separate.
I notice that Membership Pro even gets the name details from its own stored details when it auto fills in the plan forms for a new subscription and doesn't use the CB/Joomla name details. This is all good from my point of view.
There is one problem I have found though; if the user goes to their subscription details, and changes their membership details under the Edit Profile tab, this does in fact change their main account details. I don't suppose there is any way to turn this off, is there?
It seems to be possible for the same user to register for different plans under different names, (I think this is an option you created in the Configuration) so keeping these detail completely separate from the Joomla/CB user database would just be one further step?
I can always include a warning to users that they will need to change things back in their main CB account if they have to/want to update their subscription detail for some reason, but I would much prefer not to have to do this.
Thank you

Honestly, I don't really understand the actual issue. Could you please try to get this file, unzip it, upload to components/com_osmembership/model folder, then try again and let us know if it is working as expected?

Hi Tuan
Okay, I can see why you didn't understand the issue, as it has disappeared once I uploaded the file you supplied and presumably is now working correctly.
It is quite strange as yesterday when I clicked the Update button in the user profile tab in the Membership Pro details menu item page, the user name changed in CB to reflect the different name shown on this page, which I had entered when doing a test upgrade.
Anyway, its all fine now, many thanks for your help.

Hello Simon
No, it is not fine as the problem will come back in the next update. While you don't want that data to be updated, other customers need it to be updated and we could not have perfect solution
For now, to be safe, submit a support ticket sending us super admin account of your site. I will help implementing this modification using override so that the change won't be lost when you update to future releases of the extension
Regards
Tuan
