Manual renewal of membership, external payment made was created by intouchweb
In the interests of helping everyone (as well as me) can you please clearly outline the method used by an administrator to manually renew a member's subscription In the back end if the member has inadvertently paid for the renewal directly through eBay rather than via the Membership Pro renewal system? We know they have paid so we need to renew them manually in the backend, ensuring they receive an invoice. For example, can we input the ebay Transaction ID, do we need to manually update the subscription end date, will an invoice be issued if we just change their status to active, etc. A manual renewal option/button would be great if possible.
Thanks

Ok, I have found the answer to my own topic. The simple answer is we need to add a NEW subscription, even for a member renewal. I was looking around for ways to edit and renew an old subscription for the subscriber, but the logic is that even though it is the same subscriber the renewal is treated as a NEW subscription. Hope this helps others that may also be confused by this!

Actually, the best approach would be check on the checkbox next to the original subscription record, then Press Renew Subscription button in the toolbar
Doing that, the system will calculate subscription start and and subscription end date for the subscription to make sure his won't loose any date in his subscription duration.
That should be the right way

Tuan, What's the best procedure in the case where a member is renewing offline for a different term than the original term. For example: Original joined/subscribed for 1 year, but wants to renew for 2 years - or vice versa. How do we enter that for offline payments?

Hello Jen
I don't really understand the question. But I guess in that case, you just need to edit the subscription record, change subscription end date to add one more year to the original record and it should be OK

Another option is creating different renew options for the plan, see
membershipprodoc.joomservices.com/basic-.../plans/renew-options
Doing that will allow users to choose the renew option they want for the renewal
