Moneris: Failure – PAN was created by Matt Hennessy
While attempting to process a payment for a membership renewal, one of our users reported seeing the error message:

Failure – PAN


Would you have any ideas as to what the source of this issue could be? We did have a temporary outage today where our SSL Certificate lapsed, so it's also possible that could have been part of the problem.

Hello Matt

To be honest, I don't have any clue about this error message. Maybe you can help contacting Moneris, ask them about this error? The error message is returned by Moneris, so they know about it better than us

Thanks Tuan!

I contacted Moneris, and they indicated that a "PAN" error likely means that the credit card number being entered was invalid. They said that "PAN" refers to the first 5-6 digits of a card number, which also indicates which bank the card is from.

That said, we had the user try again and the error disappear, so it looks like it was just an entry error in the card number.
