In an ideal world it should allow configuration at a plan level as well
Honestly, I would not support it. It is too much work and doesn't have much usage. Even for this feature, so far, only two of you need it / requesting for it. Sometime, if you would need to perform some customize the extension to meet your own need if needed.
So for now, we will stick to original propose (add a setting to the field)
