[SOLVED] Import subscribers - few questions was created by Lionel Charrier
Hello Tuan
I have a site with a number of existing Joomal/community Builder users and I would like to create their first subscription to an existing Membership Pro plan
I have read documentation as well as joomdonation.com/forum/membership-pro/23...s-from-csv-file.html
According to the documentation, it should work with csv or xls files.
I have downloaded the site specific template for import and I can see all the customized fields I have created plus all the fields of membership Pro. That's OK
I tried to import one subscriber and it did not give any result : no warning whatsoever and no end. It does not reach any end. I would say "It jams". I have tried xls and csv import.
I will continue trial but before I need a confirmation on a few questions.
Question 1 : I have off course a username for each of my existing joomla users and of course I cannot know their passwords. The field is there and this password field is "empty" in my file to be imported. I have understand that Membership Pro will not generate a new password to my existing Joomla User since there is an existing username and same email address as the ones of the Joomla user.
My own response : Correct it works like that.
Question 2 : The site specific import templates includes all kinds of fields. Is it compulsory to have all those fields even when there is no value to fill in ? In other words could it be because I do not have all customized fields in the file to import that the process did not work ?
My own response : It is not necessary to have all field. I have not the field "password" and it worked
Question 3 : It is compulsory to have all the column of the field in the file to be imported exactly in the same ordre that the one of the downloaded site specific template ? I dont not know but I have given same order.
Thanks
Lionel

I finaly succeeded with a csv file. The trouble was saving to csv from Excel (mac) configured for French. Excel does not ask you anything and save with field separator "Semicolon" and text wrapping "Quote".
I just save with Libreoffice stipulating field separator "Coma" and not wrapping for text.
Everything went then smoothly.

Thanks for sharing Lionel. To answer your question #3, no, it doesn't need to be in the same order, the fields can have any orders you want
