Recurring Subscriptions with Paypal

Hey there,
I was wondering if it possible yet to create recurring subscription plans with PayPal (not PayPal Pro). Does the API allow that to do yet?
Because I would really love to offer such recurring subscription plans to my members.

Yes. PayPal does support recurring subscription, so you can create recurring subscription plans

Does cancellation of the recurring subscription also work? I thought I read something about it in the documentation. Which menu item do i have to use, so users can cancel their recurring paypal plan?

Unfortunately, Cancellation is not possible as PayPal payment standard doesn't have an API allow cancelling it from within the site

So for PayPal if users want to cancel subscription:

1. He will have to login to his PayPal account to cancel recurring subscription

2. Or you (as admin of the site) need to cancel the subscription from your PayPal account

Ok so but when the user cancels his subscription on PayPal, the subscription will also end on membership pro? So the component checks for it each month?

The subscription will still be active until the end of his current subscription. For example, if your current subscription is ended at the end of this month but you cancel the recurring payment at PayPal, you will still have active subscription until the end of this month

By the end of this month, the payment won't happen anymore and your subscription will become expired
