Recurring Payments - Change Credit Cards was created by John Willems
We have a customer who has a current recurring monthly subscription. This customer has changed business accounts and wants to change/update the credit card information the monthly charge is being billed against. Our payment processor is Stripe.
How does and existing customer edit/update their credit card information in Membership Pro?
Thanks for any help.

Hi John
At the moment, Membership Pro doesn't support this feature. I planned to add support for it but it would take few weeks to implement
Right now, I am afraid of there is not a way for him to update the credit card number of the current subscription

I guess I will have him cancel his subscription and the start a new one. Do you see a problem with that?
It would be nice to have a way to let people with recurring subscriptions update credit cards in a future release. It happens pretty frequently as well as dealing with credit card expiration dates.

Hello John
1. Yes. He can do that. It will still work.
2. Yes, it is planned. If it goes well, it will be included in version 2.8.0 which I am working on right now
Regards,
Tuan

Tuan,
Great to hear as I hadn't even contemplating this kind of scenario but I know personally for myself, I'm either misplacing my credit / debit card, or they get damaged and I need to order a new one that always has a new main long digit number etc.
Look forward to seeing if this update makes it in to 2.8.0.
Keep up the immense work, much appreciated by all no doubt.

For 2.8.0 , I will start with Stripe payment plugin first. If it goes well, 2.8.1 I will work on PayPal Pro and Authorize.net
If you use custom payment plugin, you would need to implement the code yourself, sorry. In Membership Pro package, we can only implement support for Stripe, PayPal Pro and Authorize.net. Stripe takes highest priority (the base code was implemented, need few more tweak, it will be available in 2.8.0 for sure)

I really think this is a huge enhancement, and will be well received by the Membership Pro community. Thanks for taking this on. I am now a huge Stripe fan largely because of how well you have implemented it into Membership Pro and how well Stripe supports their end of the process..

Hello,
Where would this show up for the subscriber? I can't see any place where they can re-enter their credit card information.
Thanks,
-Trent

Hi Trent
See membershipprodoc.joomservices.com/subscr...s#update-credit-card . However, please note that it is not working with all payment methods
What payment method you are using to accept payment on your site?

Hi Tuan,
Thanks for the reply. That's exactly what I needed. Turns out my test subscription didn't have a value in the Transaction ID or Subscription ID, so it didn't display that option. But for a regular person who actually paid with Stripe, it worked perfectly.
