Synchronise custom field with CB was created by LineMine
Hi
I'm trying to set up the registration in Membership Pro to show a single name field. I believe the corresponding CB field is "formatname" which is listed in the dropdown list of CB fields, but it is not showing up in the field on the registration form when a user is logged in.
Thanks

Hi
I am sorry but Membership Pro doesn't have an option to use single name field. First Name and Last Name are being used on many places in the extension, so please use it as how it is and don't change this behavior
Regards,
Tuan

Hi
Okay, thanks, but that is quite a problem from my point of view, as my site has a mix of business and individual users. The single name field, which is available in Community Builder (and is the Joomla default), is an ideal answer to this, as it allows for a wide variation of name types, including, for example, a single business name, or a business name with multiple elements, as well as the standard first and last names for individuals. Usernames are no substitute for this flexibility as they can only be a single name I will be displaying names and not usernames on the site, with public CB profiles.
One way i could work around this problem is to prevent Membership Pro from any updating of CB profiles, perhaps? This way, the details that users enter into the Membership Pro fields would just be applicable to their subscriptions and nothing else. I have decided I only want Membership Pro to take payments for upgrades, and so it will not be involved in registration or login at all, and the membership upgrades will only be visible/available to logged in users. I believe if I disable the relevant plugins the link between Membership Pro and the user database in Joomla/CB is broken?
The only remaining issue is the auto-fill of name fields from the Joomla/CB logged in user, into the Membership Pro subscription form. I would prefer to switch this off, since it looks odd if a user has a single (business) name in their CB profile. I can then just ask upgrading users to enter their real names into the membership fields.
Thanks
