auto logout upon free trial signup

here is my scenario:

I have the a menu item called "Members only" that is setup to appear when the user signs up for the free trail. Everything is configured properly; I created a user group called "freeTrailGroup" with an access level of "free trail"

once a member signs up for the free trail, the menu link of "Members Only" is set to appear giving them acces to a page with tutorial videos.

However, the user has to log out, then log back in in order for the menu item to appear. isn't the music item supposed to appear automatically without the additional step of logging in again? Is there any way to configure that?

Go to Membership Pro -> Configuration, find the config option Auto Login and Auto reload user groups, set it to Yes

After that, check it again, it should work as expected
