Social sign-in for Membership Pro was created by Rachel Jollie
I was wondering if there was any plugin on the market that could integrate with Membership Pro's registration of new users through a social sign-in (like getting the credentials through Facebook, Twitter, Google) ?

Hi Rachel

I am sorry but I don't know which plugin support it. However, from what I see, it seems Joomla 3.7 will support social sign-in (see this PR github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/pull/11778 )

If Joomla supports it, I will try to add support it directly in Membership Pro, too. But we will have to wait for few months to see Joomla 3.7 available, I guess

Pop over to the guys at www.sourcecoast.com/joomla-facebook/ & also their www.sourcecoast.com/sclogin/ I use both in my J site with EasyProfile / MembershipPro but don't use it in the way you mention above.

Anyway, it can't harm to ask in their forum a bit more of what you're after and if they believe their extension would work in it's current flavour.

Good luck.

All,

Joomla 3.6.3 has a plugin "Authentication - Gmail" which authenticates against Google.com using their gmail account and password. The Joomla site owner still gets the gmail address of the user and does not need to be concerned about managing another password. When they change their google account password, they are able to authenticate on our site via google without changing anything on our site.

@Tuan Pham Ngoc: Without making presumptions, does Membership Pro work with and "play nice" with this plugin?

Hi Scott

I think they will still have to enter their gmail and gmail password to login? If so, I guess it should work out of the box

You can try it yourself to confirm (I just guess it as I have never used that option myself)

Regards,

Tuan
