Free Membership with Event Registration was created by nate covington
Hi,

I have a client using Membership Pro and Event Booking. Is it possible to give a free membership (Membership Pro) to a person registering for an event (Event Booking)? I'm not saying I need a solution that has new features built into the admin panel, a workaround or setup tip would be great.

Another request would be a similar arrangement, except my client is using DT Register (heavily customized)... possible to give a free Membership Pro plan to people who register for a DT Register -> Event?

Thanks,
-Nate

Hi Nate

Unfortunately, this feature is not supported in our extension yet. I will try to see whether I can add support for it next wee. However, if I add support for it, I can only add support for Events Booking. The reason is because I am not familiar with DT Register and it will be hard for me to read their code to add support for this feature

Regards,

Tuan

Hi Tuan,

I understand not being able to integrate with DT Register. Please keep me posted on this. I was thinking, as a possible workaround for DT Register, see attached. I circled a link in the AEC Membership Plan management area called "Direct Frontend Link"

The URL behind this link is something like this:
www.site.com/index.php?option=com_acctex...e&usage=1&Itemid=539

My thinking is that we could put this "Direct Frontend Link" in the Confirmation / Thank You message for the event registration in question, and let the user click on it in order to obtain their free membership. You'd need to make a separate "free plan" instead of using the "standard membership" plan so that the system doesn't charge for the regular membership plan.

It doesn't look like you have this type of thing built into Membership Pro yet, but maybe it would be a suitable workaround and be a good thing to be able to use elsewhere, too?

Thanks,
-Nate

Hi Tuan,
Circling back to this - let me know if you have a solution or plan for this? Do we just need to use a coupon code in Membership Pro and give it to the people who will receive free membership?
Thanks,
-Nate
