WISH LIST REQUEST - A Defined Renewals Period was created by intouchweb
Tuan, I have a formal wish list suggestion...
I believe that many of your customers would typically have a defined renewal period for their membership plans, as this reduces the administration work of renewals. For example a membership plan that works on a calendar year - ie expiring on 31st December - might offer renewals for the next year starting from say 1st September up to say 31st March in the following year. After the renewal period the customers would typically be required to apply for a NEW membership again, rather than a renewal. That is, renewals are no longer offered beyond a certain date.
We can set the renewal days BEFORE expiry in the configuration area, but there is currently no option to stop allowing renewals AFTER a certain period (typically called a "grace period").
I believe this would be a great improvement if this feature could be added.
For example it could look like this in the Subscription Settings Configuration screen...
Allow membership renewal xxx days BEFORE the subscription expires
Allow membership renewal xxx days AFTER the subscription expires
Old / ex-members would then still be able to login and view their old membership history BUT if the renewal period is over they would NOT see a "Renew Now" option but would need to apply for a new membership, allowing them to retain their original profile and history.
At the moment the only workaround I can see is to turn OFF the renewal option ON EACH PLAN manually when the renewal period is over, but then we have to remember to switch them all back ON when next year's renewal period begins again.
Ideally, I also feel anyone renewing within the defined 'grace period' should also have their membership appear continuous in their history (that is, backdate the start date to the expiry date) , but that might be asking too much...
Let me know what you think?

Hi Mark
To be honest, I haven't had a chance to look at it yet. Next week, I will start working on new version of Membership Pro and I will try to look at this features. I will update you if I can implement it

Tuan
