email field 'live' validation?! & Social regist ? was created by Lars Behrenroth
I've been using the Jomsocial registration form until recently.
I just installed MembershipPro and if I understand correctly all registration must be handled through the MembershipPro form.
1. One thing I liked in the Jomsocial form was the immediate validation of username and email. When someone would try and enter a already registered username or email he would be prompted that it's already in use and to please enter a different one ..
Done via Ajax, I assume? Currently people have to click the process button and then get the Joomla generic error messages.
Is this possible already and I can't find it / will it be possible soon?
and 2. Many of my users like using Facebook / Twitter login and registration (I use JFBConnect w/ jomsocial)
Users could click on the FB button and would then be taken through registration (now to Membership Pro reg form).
Is there any way that the name or email address from their FB / Twitter account could be propagated into the user fields in the registration form?
ty,
Lars

Hi Lars
1=> It should work like that already. Maybe it doesn't work because there is javascript conflict causing the issue. Please submit a support ticket sending us super admin account of the site and the link to subscription form so that our dev can check and solve it
2=> Unfortunately, we don't have support for Facebook / Twitter login and registration yet.
Also, actually, registration doesn't need to be via Membership Pro. Users can register via a Jomsocial, then subscribe for a subscription plan in Membership Pro
So just choose a workflow which meets your requirement best
Regards,
Tuan

regarding 1. I found out that there's a conflict w/ the JCH Optimize plugin. Once I disable it, everything works the way it should. So, I just need to find out which script to exclude and it should work (gonna ask JCH for help with that one)
And could you explain how someone would register through jomsocial and then choose a plan, please?
is that an automatic workflow? When would the user choose the plan?
ty,
Lars

is there a place where I can see this work flow?
I'd love for the user to pick a plan and then register using the jomsocial reg form.
ty,
Lars

Hi Lars
Unfortunately, it is not possible to have it works in combination like that. So the idea is :
1. You create a menu item to display list of subscriptions plan on your site
2. Users can still register in Jomsocial as usual. I don't have any experience with Jomsocial, however , maybe on the page which is displayed when users complete registration on Jomsocial, you can add a link to that page which allow users to click on to subscribe for the plans ?
That's just the idea. As I said, there is no combination registration as you expected
