PayPal IPN Question was created by Mark McCulligh
I have setup the PayPal payment plugin. I assume this payment plugin is using IPN to communicate payment status but I don't see any instructions in the documentation where in PayPal you go in and tell PayPal you are using IPN and give it the IPN URL so PayPal knows where to call to give status updates.
Thanks,
Mark.
Thanks,
Mark.

Hi Mark
Usually, you don't have to setup anything. Membership Pro pass the IPN url it wants to receive IPN messages from PayPal for each transaction and you don't have to worry about it

Tuan

Thanks for the fast response. That is what I was wondering.
As you most likely know PayPal is making changes that start June 17 I think. You have to use https and do handshaking in TLS 1.2. Plus some other things. Just wondering how I test my Membership Pro to make sure it works. If I point it to PayPal Sandbox does it already have the changes in effect. My concern is not so much MemberShip but the server hosting the site. I don't think it supports TLS 1.2.

Hi Mark
We will need to make that change. However, I will need to read their instructions carefully to understand the change before implementing it
I think I can only have it implemented in about two weeks from now. So please come back to me in the next two weeks, I will have the updated code ready for you for testing
Regards,
Tuan
