Need Admin to ALWAYS get E-Mail confirmation was created by Imaaxx
Hello,
I have been testing the subscription settings for our site and i am able to register a new user. Then i enable it in the admin panel and the username and joomla user is created correctly the problem is the new members are always blocked even after I have set it then to active? is this normal? i would assume after i have set the account active they should not be blocked in Joomla.
Also the New member receives the e-mail confirmation correctly however the admin does not, i have confirmed that admin is set to receive e-mails so not sure what that's about.
What am i doing wrong?
Thanks
Alan

I love answering my own problem after i post it, seems i had the settings in Joomla >>> User Manager >>> Options set to "Administrator" so blocking the new members. I set this to none and disabled Joomla login. Now after i set the new member to active they are active in Joomla too.
But still no system emails to the site admin.

Hi Alan
There will be no email sent to admin when admin approve a subscription record. I think you approve the subscription yourself, so sending email to yourself to confirm about this action is not needed

Hello,
Yes i would agree for the most part, however in our situation we still need the e-mail sent to our admin account here is why. As we offer web hosting, we print the e-mail sent to us for our hard records. Also the person who approves the new member may not be the same one that will set-up the new members website. So for our needs the e-mail letter is very important. Can this be updated so that if they join or we approve them still the admin e-mail will always be sent.
Thanks
Alan

Hi Alan
Unfortunately, this is not a standard behavior of the extension, so if you want to have it, you will need to customize the extension to have this option
Regards,
Tuan

Hello,
What if we add a second e-mail account and the one admin approves the new order, will the other second e-mail receive it if that is not the same user that approved the new order? I guess this will only be an issue for us if the order fails in Paypal or 2CO and we need to manually approve the member.
Regards

Hi
Unfortunately, right now, no email will be sent to administrator event if you add more emails. The point here is that admin approves the subscription, so I don't see the need to notify himself about this action
For example, on your Joomla site for example, if you approve a user account, there is no email sent to administrator to (I am talking about Joomla users management)
So if you really need it, for now, I think you will need to customize the code yourself.
We can leave this topic open here. If there are more customers need it, I will consider adding support for it in the future. For now, I want to focus working on other features first
Regards,
Tuan

Hello,
While i do understand your logic here i feel it is wrong for an e-commerce site and here is why. When you are dealing with billing related issues and e-commerce sites there are always more then one person involved, also because we are dealing with money a correct record should always be sent regardless of who approves it or not.
I have been dealing with eCommerce sites for over a decade now and all of them will always send the admin a proof of purchase regardless of who approves it or not. We have used AEC for almost a decade and we have used many other shopping carts some in joomla and some stand alone and they ALL send proof of purchase to admin if that option is selected.
You have a setting that says "send admin e-mail" and it should always send proof of purchase to admin regardless of who approves it, since that is what the setting says.
It cant be very difficult to simply make the code send the admin an e-mail if that is selected. And if they don't want e-mail then they select no. To me its very obvious, now i understand that you are very busy these days with many requests and you have to manage your time.
I am not unhappy with your product or service just trying to help.
Kind Regards
Alan

Hi Alan
As right now, I have other features I want to focus working on first, I will leave this topic open here. Hope other customers can give us feedback about this feature. We will come back to this topic next week
To be more clear, right now, when someone subscribe sign up to a subscription plan, admin does receive notification email from the system
The system just doesn't send notification email when admin approve the subscription record when someone uses offline payment.
It is not hard to add this option to the extension, just takes less than 30 minutes of working. I just want to make sure customers really need it. So I will leave it here and discuss about it again next week
Regards,
Tuan
