Membership pro is not sending out reminder emails

Hi, we have been using Membership pro for almost 12 months without issue and it is now time that the system should be sending out subscription reminder emails, however emails are not being sent out. I have set the subscriptions up to send out reminder emails 14 days before for the first reminder email and then 7 days before for the second email.

I have not set the subscriptions to recurring but have set the Enable Renewal to yes.

And I have set the number of days to 365 in the Renew options>number of days field on the top right hand side of the plan detail

What have a set wrong?

Can anyone help?

Hi Colin

In this case, please submit a support ticket sending us super admin account of the site. We are going to check the database to see whether the reminder emails were sent or not and then check it further...

Hi Colin

1. You can look at the #__osmembership_subscribers table from database

2. When the system send reminder email to a subscriber, it will change value of the field first_reminder_sent to 1. So you can look at that database table, if you see any records has first_reminder_sent = 1, then it means the system has sent reminder email to that subscription record

3. The same for second reminder email, You can check second_reminder_sent field. For third reminder email, you can check the third_reminder_sent

Also, you can find the plugin "OS Membership Reminder", click on it to edit. There is a parameter called BCC Email. You can enter your email into that parameter and then next time, when the system send reminder email to a subscriber, you will receive a copy of that email

Hi Tuan,

Database is showing a value of 1 on the 2 fields against the _reminder_sent fields…but no-one has actually received the emails. The plugin is there but doesn’t have a feature to edit and add a BCC email address. We are currently running version 1.6.5

I’ve also checked the default email address (the kind of master capture-all address), there hasn’t been an email sent to there since May 2015, so the reminders don’t appear to have been actually sent.

Anything else for me to check?

Does it matter which mailer we are using? e.g. PHP or SMTP or sendmail

Hi Colin

The only think we need to check is Mail function still works well on your site (try to go to backend of your site, create a new user, if that user receive email, then mail function works well on your site, If not, you will need to check mail server settings to make sure mail function works)
