Is it possible to give new members? was created by Ric McDonald
The question is , Is it possible to give new members a different access level than renewals.
we have annual memberships where the first year fee is $50 and renewals are $35
We are a camera club , New members generally need help to find items of special interest to them that older members do net always need.
Our new members need to be pointed to particular pages on our website that is more applicable to new members than renewals, but renewals also need permission to see these pages.
We currently use a different landing page for members than for public, it would be good to give new members a landing page of there own with emphasis on the things they need help to find.
EG tutorials , how to enter competitions etc.
Is there a way for this to happen.

Hi Ric
Unfortunately, it is not possible. With the way Membership Pro is designed to work, members who renew membership of a subscription plan will be assigned to the same Joomla group with when he sign up for the plan for the first time
How many plans you have in the system? Maybe you can give me more information so that I can try to think about it to see whether it is possible to customize the extension to have it works like that. If we make customization, you might have to pay for the customization, unfortunately

Hi Tuan
We have 2 plans but this problem only applies to one of these, it is not a big problem and we could work around it but I asked just in case it was available now
Could you quote for such a customization ?

Hi Ric
When member of that plan renew his subscription, I image that you will need to assign him to new Joomla groups (different from his original Joomla groups when he signs up). So the question is in this case, do we have to remove him from the groups which he was assigned to when he first sign up for the plan ?
I think this customization will cost you about 50$. Not sure if it is worth to try.

Hi Tuan
The answer would be yes we would need to remove him from the first group and assign a different group on renewal.
At the moment we have current member adult as the assigned group.
If we could set it up so he would be New member adult for the first 12 months then on renewal become Current member adult , this would work.
If you can achieve this for $50 then please proceed

Hi Ric
I am sorry. I was too busy and forgot about this project. Did you make payment for this customization ? Maybe we should continue to communicate directly via email ?
