PayPal Pro was created by Wesley Derbyshire
I am somewhat confused. Does the PayPal PRo plugin only support Credit Card paymnets? I was under the impression from PayPal that this method supports both PayPal and CC payments. After I installed the plugin (in Membership Pro), and published it, I only see an option to select Credit Cards. In other words, I want to use PayPal Pro and allow users to select either CC or PayPal.
Note: I unpublished PayPal standard, as you noted from an earlier post that this didn't support cancelling recuring memberships.

Hi Wesley
The Paypal Pro payment plugin only allow users to enter credit card to process payment, it doesn't allow users to pay by Paypal account. I think what you are asking is from Paypal Express Checkout but we haven't had a change to implement support for that kind of payment yet
Back to your case, I think you should enable both Paypal standard payment plugin and Paypal Pro for now. At the moment, with Paypal standard, users cannot cancel recurring subscription. However, I remember that I read from somewhere that if users make payment via Paypal standard, we can still cancel the subscription using Paypal Pro API. So in your case, you use both the plugins and it can be implemented. However, to be honest, it will take time to implement and you might have to wait for about 3 weeks to have it implemented in the extension
Regards,
Tuan

Two things;
1) Are you saying you plan to implment PayPal Accounts payments through the PayPal Pro plugin in a few weeks?
2) If my client only used the PayPal standard plugin:
a) would they still need PayPal Pro services from PayPal to process recurring payments?
b) would Membership Pro automatically update memberships that are still active as recurring payments at PayPal?
--- and yes, I understand that in this case cancellations would have to be done manually.
Regards,
Wesley

Hi
=> No, it is not correct. I said that I will improve the extension so that if you use both Paypal and Paypal Pro on your site, users who sign up for recurring subscription using Paypal will still be able to cancel recurring subscription (luckily, I hear that Paypal allows this cancellation via Paypal Pro API)
=> No, you don't have to use Paypal Pro services
=> Yes
Hope the answer is clear to you
Regards,
Tuan
