Hi Tuan,

So I did a test importing an existing member with a CSV file.

It worked fine.

My question is with the Member ID number.

Since we already have membership numbers for our existing members we want that number to get imported.
So in the Configuration section -- I just set General Membership ID -- to NO

Then in the CUSTOM FIELD -- I made a custom field for member_number. And then on the CSV file I added that field.
It did import the current membership number for that member. So that worked very well.

So now if someone joins for our membership on our website - AS A NEW MEMBER - how will a membership number get generated for them - if I have it turned off in the configuration file?

Thanks.
Sharon

Hi Sharon

In Membership Pro, the Membership ID is generated automatically by the system (an auto-increment number). It could not be manual entered as the system won't know how to generate the membership id number unless you customize it to make the membership id generated using the rule you want (need to know code to customize it, unfortunately)

If you turn off it in the configuration file, it could not be generated

Regards,

Tuan

HI Tuan,

So if our last membership number is 1388 (let's just use this as an example) - and I set the General Membership ID to 1388 - and if someone signs up for membership - their number should be 1389, correct?

Thanks.

Sharon
