Live test of Membership Pro questions

Hi Tuan,

We did a LIVE test as follows:

We made a Student Membership payment of $25.00 and made the payment through PayPal.

When asked at PayPal checkout to use PayPal or pay with Credit Card - we chose - payment with Credit Card.

The problem is that we were charge tax on the Credit Card receipt.

On the administrative note that we got in our emails the charge was just $25.00 - showing no tax.

So bottom line is we do not charge tax on our membership.

Is there a way to fix this?



Next problem..

There is no INVOICE being sent to the purchasers email. The invoice is there if you go into the HISTORY though. Should there be an invoice generated to their email?

We also did a test for OFFLINE STUDENT MEMBERSHIP. This seems to work fine - but as I mentioned before - there is no email note going to the purchaser. Even when we go into ACTIVE the member - no email is sent to them. There is an email note that I did setup - for offline payment - but it does not generate.

#1 => About tax is being charged. I guess it happens because you have tax settings somewhere in your Paypal account and Paypal added tax to the payment automatically itself. Could you please check? Membership Pro just pass the payment amount you want to Paypal, it doesn't pass any tax rate or tax amount to your Paypal at all

#2=> About the invoice : Could you let me know after you complete payment, what's the status of the subscription record? Is it Pending or Active? Then we can check it further

As for the INVOICE -- The test we did and put through PayPal was Active. So set to Active we did not get an Invoice generated.

Hi Tuan,

PayPal is telling me that they do not charge the tax. Not sure I believe them. Now this is going from "Process Subscription" - which then goes to the PayPal Payment page - then rather choosing pay with PalPay account - we chose credit card option.
Now in our old membership - I did setup our own PayPal payment buttons that have code in them to NOT charge tax.
In Membership Pro - do I have to use my PayPal button settings somehow?
All I did in Membership Pro was choose PayPal as one of the payment plans.
