Great to see that this has included text in 1.7.1 rather than code, but...
Could it include full text rather than the code?
Does anywhere in the world, apart from America, use 2 letter codes? We certainly don't in the uk, and in fact not even three letter codes.
How about... the full name, please?

I'd be very worried about that happening.
I know the state_2_code is required because it's been built in to the code, but here, and I think it's really "outside the US", no-one uses them to read (do you in your country?), so my data has them filled in for the code to work, but I don't want to see them. I just want to display the real text, not a shortened code...
What d'you think?

Hi Mark
We can simply run a SQL command to update the #__osmembership_states table and set state_2_code=state_name and it will solve your issue

Hi Tuan,
Are you sure?
The state_2_code field is only 2 characters wide (reasonably enough). But I've already got two letter codes in place, it doesn't work without them.
I don't want to see the two letter code in the email.
They don't mean anything to anyone in Britain, we don't use them. We don't use three letter codes either.
I'm not sure they mean anything to anyone outside the US.

Seems it is useful for US and Canada. I will think about it and will find a solution for this problem
