Membership Pro approval process

We are trying to prevent just anyone from registering for membership on our site. We need the Association Board's approval prior to registration and payment.

We need to set up a membership application that allows an approval process before payment and membership activation.

Can we collect the application information and have it submitted to the Board to determine approval without charging the potentially new member?

Then is it possible once member is approved to set up a payment process with Membership Pro?

Unfortunately, it is not possible. In Membership Pro, subscribers will always make payment at the time they sign up, not after they are being approved.

So if you need it works in the way you explained above, I am afraid of you will have to find a different extension (unfortunately, seems there is no extension allows you to do that). In case you could not use the extension because of the reason, you can request us for refund

I see a way and that would be to create a page that explains prior acceptance and an interview is necessary. Then upon approval collect the membership fee in person or give them a temporary login to pay online through the extension.

And only allow access to activating membership upon login.
