US Sales Tax Question was created by Rick Nevins
I use Membership Pro on our website for club membership. There is no tax charged on memberships, so it is configured as "no" tax and all worked as expected. However recently I wanted to add a feature where people could purchase an item of merchandise from our website, in which case we DO want to charge sales tax but only if the buyer is from Virginia. So I configured a Paypal button for this and added a Virginia Tax line item to the Paypal Seller Settings (on the Paypal website). However, this had the unintended consequence of adding the 6% sales tax to OS Membership Pro transactions as well, which we don't want. So my question is - how can I override this so that Paypal doesn't add the Virginia Sales tax for membership transactions from OS Membership while still allowing Paypal to add the sales tax when someone purchases merchandise from our website using the Paypal Buy Now button?
