Add to JomSocial group makes them groupadmins?

First, thanks for the new version :-)

I have an odd problem. When I set the module to add subscribers to a special JomSocial group when signup, the users get added to that JomSocial group, but they also automatically get set as groupadmins.

I don't know if this is a Membership Pro or JomSocial issue. How can I fix it so these members does not automatically get groupadmin status?

Hi

I am sorry. I don't think Membership Pro has any features to add user to Jomsocial groups ? Something is not clear to me. Could you please give me more information about it ?

There is the plugin "Membership Pro - Jomsocial plugin", that says: "This plugin is used to create a Jomsocial account and to assign subscriber to Jomsocial Groups when they subscribe to a Subscription Plan in OS Membership"

When I use this plugin, and in the plan set up a JomSocial group, the new member is automatically added to that particular JomSocial group, but the problem is they also appair as groupadmins, and I don't want them to automatically become groupadmins.

I am sorry, but there must be something seriously wrong with this plugin, so I have disabled it. Too risky and too buggy to be used at the moment.

Not only does it add new users as groupadmins in jomsocial group, also it set the new signed up users profile privacy to PUBLIC, despite the admin configuration settings (jomsocial admin configuration - Privacy) is set all members to "Members", not public.
Also, any attempt to reset the membership default privacy to "Members" does not work for those members who have signed up and become added to JomSocial group by the "Membership Pro - Jomsocial plugin".

I then deactivated the plugin, and signed up a new testuser, and the problem went away (of course the member did not get added to a jomsocial group, but the members privacy integrity remained intact, so clearly these problems are related to the plugin.

I do not feel comfordable having anyone login to our site to do testing and trying on such an unstable plugin. I can provide you a Akeeba Backup in a support ticket if you would like to have a look, but we have decided not to allow any such work on our live site.

We have no idea what other potencial problems this plugin may have produced "under the hood" which we have yet not discovered, so we feel absolutely not confordable using it at the moment. That is too bad, because we would really like to have the members automatically added to a special jomsocial group.

I just discovered that this is a SERIOUS problem. I had a look in the joomsocial database tables, the "community_users" table, and those members who signed up while I had the Memberhip Pro - JomSocial plugin" activated had practically nothing in the "params" coloumn.

When a new member sign up, the communiy_user "params" coloumn shold contain this:
Code:
{"notifyEmailSystem":1,"privacyProfileView":"20","privacyPhotoView":"20","privacyFriendsView":"20","privacyGroupsView":"20","privacyVideoView":"20","notifyEmailMessage":1,"notifyEmailApps":1,"notifyWallComment":0,"notif_groups_notify_admin":1,"etype_groups_notify_admin":1,"notif_user_profile_delete":1,"etype_user_profile_delete":1,"notif_system_reports_threshold":1,"etype_system_reports_threshold":1,"notif_profile_activity_add_comment":1,"etype_profile_activity_add_comment":1,"notif_profile_activity_reply_comment":1,"etype_profile_activity_reply_comment":1,"notif_profile_status_update":1,"etype_profile_status_update":1,"notif_profile_like":1,"etype_profile_like":1,"notif_profile_stream_like":1,"etype_profile_stream_like":1,"notif_friends_request_connection":1,"etype_friends_request_connection":1,"notif_friends_create_connection":1,"etype_friends_create_connection":1,"notif_inbox_create_message":1,"etype_inbox_create_message":1,"notif_groups_invite":1,"etype_groups_invite":1,"notif_groups_discussion_reply":1,"etype_groups_discussion_reply":1,"notif_groups_wall_create":1,"etype_groups_wall_create":1,"notif_groups_create_discussion":1,"etype_groups_create_discussion":1,"notif_groups_create_news":1,"etype_groups_create_news":1,"notif_groups_create_album":1,"etype_groups_create_album":1,"notif_groups_create_video":1,"etype_groups_create_video":1,"notif_groups_create_event":1,"etype_groups_create_event":1,"notif_groups_sendmail":1,"etype_groups_sendmail":1,"notif_groups_member_approved":1,"etype_groups_member_approved":1,"notif_groups_member_join":1,"etype_groups_member_join":1,"notif_groups_notify_creator":1,"etype_groups_notify_creator":1,"notif_groups_discussion_newfile":1,"etype_groups_discussion_newfile":1,"notif_groups_activity_add_comment":0,"etype_groups_activity_add_comment":0,"notif_events_notify_admin":1,"etype_events_notify_admin":1,"notif_events_invite":1,"etype_events_invite":1,"notif_events_invitation_approved":1,"etype_events_invitation_approved":1,"notif_events_sendmail":1,"etype_events_sendmail":1,"notif_event_notify_creator":0,"etype_event_notify_creator":0,"notif_event_join_request":1,"etype_event_join_request":1,"notif_events_activity_add_comment":0,"etype_events_activity_add_comment":0,"notif_events_wall_create":1,"etype_events_wall_create":1,"notif_videos_submit_wall":1,"etype_videos_submit_wall":1,"notif_videos_reply_wall":1,"etype_videos_reply_wall":1,"notif_videos_tagging":1,"etype_videos_tagging":1,"notif_videos_like":1,"etype_videos_like":1,"notif_videos_convert_success":1,"etype_videos_convert_success":1,"notif_photos_submit_wall":1,"etype_photos_submit_wall":1,"notif_photos_reply_wall":1,"etype_photos_reply_wall":1,"notif_photos_tagging":1,"etype_photos_tagging":1,"notif_photos_like":1,"etype_photos_like":1,"notif_system_messaging":1,"etype_system_messaging":1,"postFacebookStatus":1}

but those members who signed up while the Membership Pro - JomSocial plugin" was activated only had this in the "params" coloumn:
Code:
{"postFacebookStatus":1}

Clearly there is something seriously wrong with this plugin. I have manually corrected the database tables, and luckily it seems to work now, but I think you must update this plugin and make sure it works, because this can seriously make a lot of trouble for people who install it start using it.
