Subscription Active Times displayed incorrectly

I'm using Joomla 3.3.6 with Membership Pro v1.6.5, but this problem existed before I upgraded to these versions.
When a user accesses their user profile information for their subscriptions, the Active Time is shown as this:
" 0101-101010-2013201320132013 To 0101-101010-2014201420142014 " (see attached file)
I would expect to see something like 01-10-2013 To 01-10-2014, or better - 01 Oct 2013 to 01 Oct 2014
What could cause this to happen. It looks like a bug but could it be something to do with the way I've set up the user maybe?
